Laminated logs are made from nature's best construction material

We're sure that in our range of logs you'll find just the right size of log to meet your construction requirements and preferences.

Only high class pines and spruces are accepted as raw materials for our laminated logs. Not only that, the wood must come from the coldest areas of Finland, where the climate and soil are optimal for the growing trees. Thanks to this excellent climate, the trees enjoy balanced growth during the winter and summer; wood grown in central area of Finland has an exceptionally durable structure, making it ideally suited for building loghouses.

All our log houses and bungalows conform to the UK planning and building regulations.

Traditional pine ... or spruce, the pearl of the forests?

We offer you a choice between pine and spruce. Both species of wood are excellent for building laminated log houses.

Traditionally, pine wood has been considered to be the one true construction materials. However, we have become convinced that laminated spruce logs are a worthy material for building permanent living houses and other large buildings.

Kartano log - we're proud of these new spruce logs.

The manufacturers R&D work has resulted in new laminated spruce logs measuring 180 x 260 mm. They have named it Kartano log. This is the largest laminated spruce log available, and it combines the pale beauty of spruce with durability. Kartano log gives you truly gorgeous walls - beautifully pale surface decorated with small knotholes.

Kartano is an elegant log that creates a luminous ambience. Kartano's unique characteristics rise to the occasion when used for architecturally demanding applications and in buildings which make great demands on their materials.

Thinner log walls can be fitted with additional insulation. Insulation is usually done on the inside.

Because wood fibre is used a insulation material, also insulated log houses breathe, keeping indoor air quality and moisture content good. Like logs, wood fibre is a natural material. Log panels on the wall makes it look like a genuine log wall. You can lacquer or tone according to your preferences.

If you want a more diverse wall you can always choose the board surface. You can paint, tile or wallpaper it just the way you want. You can even have different wall surfaces, treated with different materials in your favourite colours, in each room.

There are two ways of building a warm and lasting log house with excellent air quality. Either a sufficiently thick laminated log as such or a thinner log wall with additional insulation. For example, if you choose 113x180mm laminated logs and 120mm wood fibre insulation, your house will not only have all the good qualities of a log house, but it will have the sturdy looks as well.

Special joints and designs add the finishing touch

Thanks to cutting edge log house technology and special woodworking machinery, several corner and joint structures are possible. These can be used to give a special touch to your log house. The framework of laminated log walls remain tight because wood's natural twisting is under control. Sturdy grooves make sure that joints hold. Angled corners can vary freely from45 to 90 degrees. Dovetail joints and short corners increase the popularity of log houses in cities and planned areas. We can also implement other structures that require special working.
